DAY 01: ARRIVAL IN ARUSHA

Upon arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO), a representative from Across Africa Nature will warmly welcome and pick you up with a private 4×4 safari vehicle and transfer to Arusha (approximately 50km or 31miles) a 45 to 50 minutes drive on a tarmac road for overnight at Planet Lodge or similar (Dinner included). Starting from pick up at the airport and throughout your safari, our experienced and passionate driver-guide will give you an enriching knowledge about the people of Tanzania, wild animals’ behavior, their natural environments and other intricacies. Our representative will have a short safari briefing session with you at the lodge and leave you to relax and have dinner. This will be a truly life-enriching safari experience that will be lifetime memorable. Karibu Tanzania!

 

DAY 02 +05:  VOLUNTEEER IN ARUSHA

You will be placed to volunteer in a project, organization or institution in Arusha.

 

DAY 06: ARUSHA TO NGORONGORO CRATER

After breakfast drive to Ngorongoro Crater, enter the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, have your first glance of the fantastic view of the Ngorongoro Crater at the view site, and continue descent onto the crater floor, game drive on the crater floor. This is the only Park where, Black Rhino could be spotted which will complete the big five animals. Packed lunch at a picnic site.  Accommodation at Ngorongoro Farm House  included: breakfast, packed lunch and dinner.

DAY 07: NGORONGORO TO SERENGETI

After breakfast, drive past the rim of the crater and descend to Olduvai Gorge, visit Museum, before you arrive at Naabi Park gate, ( Naabi Park gate is the border between Ngorongoro Conservation area and Serengeti National Park ), here you will have a possibility of doing a short 45minutes designated Nature Trail Walk on the Slopes of Naabi hill. You will enter Serengeti National Park and game-drive enroute to and lunch. A further afternoon game drive in Serengeti National Park Before 6pm you will return to the camp.  Accommodation at Lobo Wildlife Lodge included breakfast, packed lunch and dinner

DAY 08: SERENGETI

AM and PM game drive of Serengeti National Park (lunch or Packed lunch, as game drives times will depend on where the cats can be best spotted usually game drives are either from 6.30am to 8.30am and 3pm to 6pm or a full day from 8am to 5pm with packed lunch breaks at designated picnic sites in the park where toilet facilities are available).  Accommodation at Lobo Wildlife Lodge meals included breakfast, lunch or packed lunch and dinner

DAY 09: SERENGETI TO LAKE NATRON

AM 4hrs drive with excellent views of the Rift valley escarpment, to Lake Natron, today we experience the real adventure, until we arrive at our camp. Packed lunch eaten at a good picnic site. Spend the rest of the day swimming at the waterfalls nearby. Accommodation at Lake Natron Tented Camp
Meals included breakfast, packed lunch and dinner.

 

DAY 10 & 11: OLDONYIOL’ENGAI CLIMB – ACTIVE VOLCANIC MOUNTAIN

For those opting to climb Mount OldonyioLengai) 11 midnight, we begin our guided climb (very streneous climb) to the summit of the mountain of god, where the Maasai people worship and give sacrifices to their god’s at the top. The mountain is still an active volcano, and you will get fantastic views of the ashes. We shall return to the base of the mountain after 8 to 14hrs, depending on our strength and interest whilst on the mountain. From the trailhead, our driver will be waiting for us to be transferred to Natron for a nice shower and refreshment. Late afternoon, we visit the Lake Natron, breading place for the Flamingoes. (For those not climbing, can do short nature walk until the climber return) Accommodation at Lake Natron Tented Camp, Meals included breakfast, packed lunch and dinner. After lunch drive back to Arusha ready to fly back home.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

An African safari is an authentic adventure. For certain parts of this safari, expect driving on dirty road which may be bumpy and dusty here and there to make your safari really an African experience. However, our safari vehicles are designed to make your safari comfortable under difficult terrains. So, any person with physical fitness to sit on a safari vehicle is fit for this safari.
